Copula is not an agency. It is one designer who also writes the code, which is why nothing gets lost between the person who draws and the person who builds.
What Copula does
Copula designs and builds websites for small businesses and personal brands. Every project is drawn from scratch and coded by hand, without page builders and without themes bought from a marketplace.
Beside client work, Copula sells design templates to other designers and developers through the Template Library, and is preparing a subscription that will open access to the full library.
Who is behind it
My name is Boris. I design in the browser as much as in the design tool, because a layout that only works in a static mockup is not finished work. I have one standard for everything that leaves this studio: it has to be fast, readable and accessible, and it has to earn its keep.
How the work runs
A conversation first, a fixed quote second, then the design. You see the design before a single line of code is written, and we change it until it is right. After that I code it, test it on phone and desktop, put it on your domain and hand you the keys. The domain, the hosting and the website are in your name from the first day.
Most projects run two to four weeks. What usually takes the longest is not the build, it is agreeing on the text and the photographs.
What Copula will not do
- Sell you a website you do not need. If the answer to your problem is a single page or no website at all, that is what you will hear.
- Hold your project hostage. No maintenance contract is ever a condition for handover.
- Ship something that fails on a phone, on a slow connection or with a screen reader.
